Under the Human Rights Institutional Support Programme, the activities of our Federation were supported for 12 months.
This institutional support focused on the establishment of the Disabled Rights Legal Advice and Counselling Centre within the Disabled Components Federation and the implementation of various activities.
Some highlighted topics of the project:
The Disability Rights Legal Advice Unit was established on 01/07/2020 to develop and strengthen advocacy on human rights violations and potential risks faced by persons with disabilities under human rights laws.
The unit was established to provide legal support to people with disabilities, inform them about human rights violations and advocate for their rights.
The unit can still be contacted via the Federation's landline number and application form.
Between July 2020 and June 2021, a total of 286 questions were answered.
Organisational efforts:
Visits were organised to Şanlıurfa and Mardin and meetings were held with associations working in the field of disability in the region.
Capacity building trainings:
Trainings were held in Diyarbakır for representatives of associations working in this field and for representatives of member associations of our Federation, including:
- Training on association management and association legislation,
- Advocacy and methods of influencing policy,
- Training on the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, disability rights and project cycle.
Lobbying efforts:
Meetings were held with relevant public institutions to address the issues identified by the Legal Advocacy Centre for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
Communication and visibility activities:
In line with the principles of transparency and accountability, posts were published on the association's website and social media.
Board meetings:
Meetings were held with the board and presidents of the federation's member associations to inform them of activities.
NGO-Government Workshop:
A workshop was organised in Diyarbakır to improve the dialogue between NGOs working in the field of disability and the government.
Other activities:

- Meeting with Dicle University,
- International human rights regime events,
- Workshop on gender equality and many other activities.
