With the work carried out by our Federation, women with and without disabilities from 8 different provinces of Turkey received training on rights-based media literacy and gender equality.
The project aims to develop communication skills, increase volunteer and supporter networks, develop policy, and strengthen digital skills.
Objectives of the Study:
· To develop the media literacy of women with disabilities,
· To spread the gender equality perspective within the organization and network,
· To use rights-based journalism as an advocacy tool,
· To increase the visibility of women with disabilities in the media and to create original news networks.
Project Targets:
· The media literacy of women with disabilities was strengthened through workshops organized online in 8 provinces,
· Editor trainings were organized where women with and without disabilities would come together and create news content,
· The translation of the created news content into Turkish, Kurdish and English and its publication in local and national media was ensured,
· Women with disabilities were brought together with experienced women journalists in the media field to share experiences.
· This work was supported by the European Union Civil Society Thought Program in 2023.
